Versatile Blogger Award!

Our school art blog was awarded the "Versatile Blogger Award" from Mary, who has an amazing art blog called Mary Making that I love to read! Thank you, Mary for your support and enthusiasm about my students' art projects and sharing all of your amazing, wonderful projects!

Versatile Blogger Award
Pass the Award on to 10 recently discovered bloggers and share seven interesting facts about yourself:

Seven Interesting Facts:

1. Before I was an art teacher I was: a kindergarten teacher for four years, an editorial assistant, gourmet coffee expert, legal assistant, art gallery manager, custom picture framer, an employee in a travel agency, and a baker's assistant.

2. My father was a national broadcast journalist for NBC in the 1960's and met JFK, Muhammad Ali, Martin Luther King, Jr., LBJ, and many of the first astronauts in space.

3. I went to a special high school in Houston called The High School for the Performing and Visual Arts (HSPVA). My area of specialty was, of course, visual art. I spent three hours every day working in the studio. It was fantastic!

4. I used to own two iguanas named Pickles and Tito.

5. A major staple of my diet is Tex-Mex. Good thing I'm a native Texan!

6. I recently became an aunt for the first time to my wonderful sweet little nephew Xander.

7. I have traveled all over Europe and got to see many of the major works in art history in person. My favorite museums by far were in Italy, particularly the Uffizi Gallery and Medici Mansion in Florence, Italy. The Louvre was a close second.

  1. Makes sense that you taught Kindergarten then went to art! There's so much creativity in Kindergarten (unfortunately there is an influx of testing at our school now that makes it hard for the Kindergarten teachers to do ANY art.)
I could go for some good TEX MEX too!
You should share travel pictures one day. People like me have never gone to those places and it is always fun to live vicariously.

    Thanks for the award!
