Ocean Resist Paintings by Pre-K, K, and 1st Grades

After a lesson on how to draw several ocean creatures, the students drew their own little piece of the ocean with their favorite aquatic animals. We did a simple resist: permanent marker sketch, oil pastel colors, and finally we painted blue "ocean water" on top. I had the students use blue green as well as dark blue to create contrast and to give the look of waves in the water.
