Van Gogh Paintings by Kindergarten

These were created for the kindergarten expo in May. Students are working in the style of a famous artist as well as learning biographical information about them. Each class has a different theme: water, trees, and flowers. I had the students draw concentric lines--one outline and numerous inside lines--to mimic the layered strokes of Van Gogh. I also had them paint this way, which was a difficult skill to master, but I think they did a beautiful job.

  2. Thanks Phyl! I love them too...it actually has really inspired me to try this technique in my own work. I was amazed the little ones were able to create these because they were pretty complex for small hands! A shot in the dark, but it worked out beautifully.
